Artist Biography

Westcoast Ebusua, is a Ghanaian based musical group founded in the year 2015 in Accra by a soul soothing keyboardist, arranger and composer Carl Amoah. He is popularly known at his best, as P.Y in the Ghanaian music fraternity and hails from Ekumfi Engow in the Central Region of Ghana and lived with his family in the coastal part of Western hence the name “Westcoast Ebusua”.

After his tertiary education at University of professional Studies (U.P.S), P.Y discovered his unending love and passion for music, and with the help of his brother Gaddiel Amoah(Bassist) and a few close friends, “Westcoast Ebusua” came alive.

For the past years, the band has immensely contributed to Ghanaian Hilife, Afro Hilife, Afro Jazz fusion, Afro soul, world music and all other genres.

Westcoast Ebusua has had the honor of playing for kingpins of various musical genres worldwide. Just to mention a few are Ofie Kudjo (U.S.A), Rex Omar (Ghana), Miatta Fahnbulleh(Liberia) Bakabri (Ghana), Dede Mabiaku (Nigeria), Afro soul songstress Susan Augustt, Ayi Solomon (Denmark)  and many others.

The band has grown into an amazing collective of musicians known affectionately as “Ebusua”(Family) by its fun base since it’s founding.

The band comprises of 8 members approximately and  have performed on Keyboards, bass, guitar, drums, brass, Percussions and vocals.

The group has tremendously performed on great platforms such as the tribute to Hugh Masekella (alliance francàise,2018), Paa Kow fest (alliance francàise 2020), Silicon House Live (2021), Societè General Jazz festival (Alliance francàise 2024), “Make Music Day” 2024 (pulsations) and also had the opportunity to participate in the Yamaha E -Band challenge (2018), music clinics, workshops and master classes. Despite the massive dedications of it’s members, most members either lead or are primary players in other working recording bands.

Westcoast Ebusua in October 6 2023, released their debut EP album ‘Family matters’, which is making waves in various streaming platforms and currently working on their upcoming album which is yet to be released for a world tour.
