Artist Biography

Basile Rahola (born 19 September 1994) is a French jazz bassist and double-bass player active on the European jazz scene as both a bandleader and sideman. He began studying electric bass at age seven at the Institut Européen de Formation aux Arts Rythmiques in Montpellier, later continuing his training at the National School of Music in Villeurbanne, where he deepened his focus on jazz and double bass.

After several years living and performing in Barcelona, Rahola moved to Brussels, becoming an active figure in the city’s vibrant jazz community. He leads the Basile Rahola Quartet, presenting original compositions marked by lyrical writing and strong improvisational interplay. His latest album From One Path To Another (Igloo Records) highlights his refined tone and compositional voice. He is also knowed to be the bass player of Wajdi Riahi Trio.

Rahola has performed internationally across Europe and abroad and has appeared at major festivals and jazz club. Performing with musician such as Dre Paellemerts, Matt Chalk, Aaron Parks, Minino Garay, Stéphane Galland, Bram de Looze, Antoine Pierre, Jean-Paul Estievenart, Wajdi Riahi… Recognized for his versatility and musical sensitivity, he continues to establish himself as a distinctive presence in contemporary European jazz scene.
